Inspirational sins 1 – Lauritz

Posted Sunday, February 08, 2009 by SixSevenEightNine in Labels:

Chairs inspired by the 7 sins.
Saligia is the Latin acronym for the Seven Deadly Sins and in this case also the name of seven redesigns of Arne Jacobsen's classic chair no. 7. Each chair represents one of the seven deadly sins. The inspiration is taken from Danish bishop Jan Lindhardt's book about the Seven Deadly Sins in which he claims that the sins have become virtues in modern western society. Who can argue about that since these chairs are auctioning at Lauritz.com with proceeds going to various humanitarian organizations (Red Cross, Unicef, etc). Johnny Slogan aka Thomas Von Staffeldt is the Copenhero artist behind the seven interpretations, and the chairs are donated by Fritz Hansen.
