Extension to Beijing's National Library.

KSP recently designed an impressive extension to Beijing's National Library. The extension is designed around the glazed vault housing the Si Ku Quan Shu collection, allowing for an important part of China’s written cultural heritage, bound in wooden panels, to be always visible and transparent. What's great about libraries' are that they always reflect some of the characters of the nation. The penchant for grandeur, the lingering utilitarianness and the preoccupation for transparency are evident within the library. These add up to a beautiful building with large interconnected spaces and an openess to the surrounding and hopefully one that locals would grow in love with.

ps: a bit like diller + scofido works no?
