In a project of refreshing simplicity and clarity, Lee Min Soo recently completed an observatory in Songdo New City, South Korea by inventively reusing shipping containers. The containers are tilted at 10, 30 and 50 degrees to offer different views of the sunset over the harbour, establishing a clear and formal response to the low lying landscape. Projects like these are unpretentious in their approach to sustainable design and it perhaps serves as a reminder of how simple green buildings can simply be.
