In Africa, it takes an average of 6 miles walk to collect water; the lack of drinking water kills 1 child every 15 seconds. Design For The Children is an open, international design competition asking architects and designers from around the world to develop a sustainable, culturally responsive, pediatric clinic model to address these issues for East Africa. 4of7 Architecture’s competition proposal for is a modular configuration that will expand to accommodate more people when necessary. This modular configuration is a “spatial solution” that will connect a major network of health care. We love the simplicity and believability of the idea and certainly it’s heartening to see architects actually designing for what it's worth rather than what it pays.
